I wear many hats so that, depending on the subject that we aim to capture and at what length, the product brings out the authentic qualities of the world or niche we are depicting and refrains from devolving into a stereotype. I want to achieve a freshness in the scope of the work so that the topic doesn’t lapse into formulaic thinking by refraining from parroting common knowledge or representations associated with the topic. Attending to the theme, significance or message as I familiarize myself with the subject, I apply the greatest of care in word selection to achieve grace, clarity and an appropriate style for each project.
Depending on the type of writing requested, a certain mood or tone can make a product sink or swim and most importantly can either inform or entertain or ring hollow. No one wants to see a magician in the middle of kid’s science fair making every educated hypothesis seem less relevant when she goes around pulling trick after trick avoiding any explanation when science is about exploring the possibility of answers. To avoid clashing effects and to relate the significance of a product, I work to guarantee that a reader walks away with something of value and worthwhile.
